It happens to the best of us.  You train your heart out during your season, earn that medal or reach your running goal and then you let off the gas and take way too much time off or don’t run as often as you should.  Avoid the letdown and train with In Flight Running year round with the coaching and the team camaraderie needed to help you reach new heights with your running. 

Our Year Pass Option bundles Spring & Prime training seasons together for an entire year of coaching, group runs, workouts and team events.  With an annual membership, you have more than enough time to start fresh and rebuild your running base from scratch if you are just starting.  And if you are already actively running, you can more momentum and go farther, faster by training with our team.  

Year Pass also includes a year’s worth of training schedules to get you in shape and train you for any race distance from 5K to marathon that's on your running calendar. 

On most weeks of the year, we offer fluid-supported, Saturday morning long runs, Tuesday morning and evening track workouts at Memorial Park and hill workouts along 10 different hill training circuits at Houston's Memorial Park and along White Oak and Buffalo Bayou trails.

We occasionally organize a Sunday morning member road trip to run beautiful, wooded trails at nearby Houston, Texas and US Federal  parks.  Once in a while we offer Thursday evening member happy hour social runs.

Our group running memberships are loaded with a ton of benefits to help maximize your accountability, engagement and performance.  You will meet and run with Houston's most welcoming pack of runners who really love the sport!  Many lifelong friendships have been made during our 22 year history! 

Here's the rundown of what's included in our Year Pass Membership:

  • 48 weeks of training - March 1, 2025 thru Feb 7, 2026.
  • Saturday morning (6:30 AM during Spring - 6:00 AM during Prime season) organized, fluid-supported, coached long runs.  Beat the Houston heat with us!
  • Tuesday 5:15 AM interval workouts (track & hills). We alternate weeks between track and hill workouts to help improve speed, power, strength and running form yet minimize risk of injury.
  • Tuesday 6:15 PM interval workouts (track and hills) or just meet up with other members for a training run along the Memorial Park, 3 mile trail.
  • Occasional, Sunday morning trail runs at beautiful Houston, Texas & Federal Parks like Kemah/Seabrook Nature Trails, Brazos Bend State Park, Huntsville State Park, Lake Livingston State Park, Stephen F Austin State Park, Lake Houston Wilderness Park, Double Lakes Recreation Area and more. Coach Michael is your tour guide on these peaceful, wooded, challenging and sometimes hilly, adventure runs.
  • Free parking at our Saturday morning group long run home base meet-up place in the Houston Heights.
  • Online maintenance or race training schedules easily accessible from a smartphone app.  Our app emails you daily reminders on how many miles and what types of workouts you need to complete for optimal results.
  • Full access to IFR Founder & Head Coach Michael Merlino via email, phone, FaceTime, WhatsApp video chat, video conference or 1 on 1 in person coffee talks to help you fine-tune your running strategy.
  • Access to live and on-demand running webcasts with Coach Michael and guests on a variety of fitness and running topics to keep you coached up and motivated.
  • Access to our members only app to check in for group runs and get up to date member news, race info, training tips and additional coaching.
  • Team dry fit shirt!  Every member receives their choice of a dry fit tank or T.
  • Team Breakfast shirt!  A comfy cotton/poly T-shirt to put on after those sweaty runs.
  • 10% member discount at all Houston area Fleet Feet running stores.  20% off when we run a member Saturday long run from the Houston Greenbriar/Bissonnet store every other month during the season.

Year Pass EZ Pay Plan - 6 Payments of $95
If you want to split up the cost of our Year Pass membership over 6, monthly payments use this link to enroll in our Year Pass "EZ Pay option". A $35 processing fee is added to the current, total cost of our Year Pass membership for setting up an EZ Pay payment plan.  You are billed for your first payment on the day you register for Year Pass and auto billed for the remaining 5 payments on the same day each month.

If you can't commit to an entire year of training, consider our shorter, 13 week Spring Season which starts on March 1, 2025 or our 35 week Prime Season which starts later in the year on June 7, 2025.

Just Started Running? Then Check Out Our Beginner "Launch" Program
If you are a true beginner who is just getting started with running, we also offer a Spring Beginner Program called "Launch". Launch offers an 18 week season that starts on January 25th and is designed for beginners who are just starting their running journey, are returning to the sport after an extended break and have a minimal running base.  We recommend being able to at least intermittently run/walk a distance of 2-3 miles before joining us for the Launch program.
