Merlino Fitness and In Flight Running offers one on one, 1 - hour training sessions with Fitness Trainer and Running Coach Michael Merlino. Coach Merlino has 22 years of experience coaching runners and fitness clients from youth to adults.
His private, 1 on 1 training sessions include general training runs, track/speed workouts, hill training workouts or strength training sessions. When training runners, strength sessions are targeted toward sport specific exercises that will help each runner minimize injury risk and be a more durable and faster runner.
Training sessions can be purchased in a block of sessions. Most clients train 1-2 times per week. Training locations include the private fitness studio Coach Merlino trains his clients at in the Timber Grove area (just west of the Houston Heights) and a variety of running trails and 400 meter tracks located inside Houston's 610 loop.
Personal run coaching sessions allow each runner to get more instruction, discuss strategy during every workout, work on fine tuning running form, improve strength, address weak links and improve running skills much faster.
Strength training workouts are private and offer instruction to runners or the general population to build muscle, lose weight or improve sports performance.
A recommended starting point for any potential fitness or run coaching client is an initial, 1 hour consultation and video gait analysis (gait recommended for runners). These services help each client determine their fitness or running goals, formulate a recommended training program, share more information about services available and get started on a program.
